SOLO

  3. Administer a pre-solo written aeronautical knowledge test, which includes the material as listed in 61.87(b)(1) 61.87(b)
    1. Must be administered by the flight instructor 61.87(b)(2)(i)
    2. Review all incorrect answers with the student before authorizing that student to conduct a solo flight 87(b)(2)(ii)
  4. Review all incorrect answers with the student (different color pen). Copy and file corrected test, and/or give the pre-solo aeronautical knowledge test endorsement:

  1. Give and log Pre-Solo flight training on the maneuvers and procedures applicable to the make and model to be soloed (to prepare for student’s solo flight) as listed in 61.87(d) 61.87(c)
  2. When the student has demonstrated satisfactory proficiency in the maneuvers and procedures, the make and model and safety, give him/her two solo endorsements per 61.87(n)(1 & 2) and 61.195 61.87(c)(2)

Cross-country

    1. Give GROUND and FLIGHT training on the cross-country maneuvers and procedures in 61.93(e) in the same make and model the solo cross-country’s will be performed, and ensure that the student pilot is proficient in all the cross-country maneuvers and procedures. 61.93(a)(2)(i), 61.93(a)(2)(ii), 61.93(a)(3)

 

    1. The student pilot must have satisfactorily accomplished the pre-solo flight maneuvers and procedures (required by 61.87) in the same make and model that the solo cross-country
      flights will be performed 61.93(a)(2)(iii)
  1. Give three Endorsements for Solo Cross-Country flights

          • 5 hours solo cross-country time
          • 150nm solo cross-country, full-stop at three points—one leg more than 50nm
          • 3 takeoffs/landings to full stop with control tower
      1. Give logbook endorsement for practical test 103(f)

    Prerequisites for practical tests. 61.39(a)(6)

    If both solo and cross country training are done, then you must ensure that all the aeronautical experience requirements are done, and he/she is prepared (competent and proficient) to endorse him/her for the practical test.
